Blue and celadon porcelain serving dish from Ming Period shipwrecks. Having spent centuries at the bottom of the sea these dishes are brought to the surface with the effects of such a long period showing in the soft satin sheen on the glaze. The bottoms have fused elements of sand and coral-encrusted to the bases. Found in mass as ship cargo headed to trading ports they are a variety of shapes and sizes. The size here is 8.5" in diameter and 2" deep.
