Antique Minton Platter, C.1875

Minton small polychrome transferware platter or underplate. The center cartouche has a oculus motif; the rim a vaguely Egyptian Revival theme popular in the 19th century. Minton's BB backstamp suggests fabrication between 1873 - 1884, the incised date cypher narrows it down to 1875. Very good condition w/ appropriate wear from age and use. Brilliant colors; hairline crack in border, chip on foot, and some finish loss on edges.
