Antique Ruined Castle and Bridge Pattern Blue & White Transfer Plate Circa 1830 This delightful antique blue and white plate is a bit of a mystery. It has taken me years of research to be able to identify it because, it is not marked. Luckily, my mother-in-law had “The dictionary of Blue & White Printed Pottery 1780-1880” on her bookshelf where I found a picture, the description of the pattern and the name of the drawing’s designer. I have included both in my pictures. Please read it, it is very interesting! This plate is marked with the number 3 which is probably earlier than the platter in the Dictionary of Blue & White. It also has the double ridge on the bottom of the plate with is a good way to identify antique china. The other lovely thing about this plate, is that it is a darker shade of blue than most blue & white plates. It is in perfect condition & loves to show its beauty among books, on a table, in the kitchen…. Measurements: Width 10” Length 10”
