Bring timeless character to your serveware collection with our charming Astier de Villatte 19th Century Sprig Plate. This pretty piece was made in collaboration by two of our favorite makers — the legendary ceramicist Astier de Villatte and celebrated designer John Derian — and takes its inspiration from classic Dutch delftware. A type of tin-glazed pottery made in the Netherlands since the 19th century, delftware’s iconic blue-and-white palette and elegant designs were in turn derived from traditional Chinese pottery. Talk about art inspiring art! Handcrafted in Astier’s Paris workshop using locally-sourced black terracotta clay, this dessert plate was dipped in the brand’s signature milky white glaze and then hand-painted with delicate blue-and-green floral sprigs from Derian’s expansive collection of antique images, creating a dead ringer for authentic delftware. Stunning all on its own as a catchall or wall hanging, we also love our Sprig Plate mixed in with other dishes from our Astier de Villatte Ceramics Collection for a subtle pop of color. •black terracotta clay •white glaze •painted details•food safe •hand wash only •handmade in paris •astier de villatte x john derian•each is unique Dimensions•6" diameter x .5"H CA Residents: Prop 65 Warning >
