Like all of Astier’s ceramic creations, it was crafted by skilled artisans in their historic Paris workshop using black terracotta clay sourced from the Paris Basin and handcarved plaster molds — a slow-paced traditional method that gives each piece its own unique character. Once formed into shape, it’s coated with the brand’s signature milky white glaze, which lets hints of that natural clay color peek through, adding to its perfectly imperfect feel.
