18th century English earthenware plate with pearlware glaze. Pattern is known as "Long Liza", featuring mysteriously tall draped figure. This one is most unusual with raised festoon pattern on edges. Dating to c. 1780-90. Exceptional in both quality and condition, with only fine, minor flaws typical of this type of pottery The "Long Eliza" pattern derives from early 17th/18th century Chinese porcelain.
