There is quite a story to this floral, scalloped & gilded gold collectible. The artist, Franziska Hirsch, between 1894 and 1896 opened her own factory in the city of Meissen in Germany. What a trailblazer! She hand decorated in the same style of the city in which was the first to manufacture porcelain in 1710. In 1896 “Meissen” - the original factory filed a complaint for imitation of the style and patented mark and she had to stop production. The makers mark ( blue crossed sword ) on this collectible I have concluded is hers - after many hours of research. This plate was produced in those 2 years between 1894-1896. The plate stand is not included.
