Frie Onnaing French Art Nouveau Barbotine Majolica Asparagus & Shell Plate

A French Barbotine majolica Asparagus plate in the Art Nouveau style, Frie Onnaing, circa 1890-1910.A deep plate with a shaped rim and a scallop shell motif sauce well bordered by a curved spear. Overlapping bunches of asparagus in cream and green with purple tips meet the top and right sides of the plate. Art Nouveau style scrolled accents in a Sienna glaze form the rim.Marked with either an impressed ‘Onnaing, Made in France’ or simply an impressed ‘France.’Book Reference: Botero, Artichauts et Asperges en Barbotine, pg. 929.5 in. diameter x 1.5 in. deep.The available plates may show the typical age related light overall crazing, all are in very good antique condition.
