Set Of Seven Late Victorian Ashworth Brothers Hanley Imari Soup Plates, C. 1890–1905

Chairish

$475

An elegant and cohesive set of seven English Imari-inspired shallow soup plates by Ashworth Brothers of Hanley, Staffordshire. Dating to the late Victorian / early Edwardian period (circa 1890–1905), these plates showcase a richly layered chinoiserie landscape motif in iron red, black, and celadon green. Pagoda architecture, arched bridge, stylized botanicals, and sailing vessel imagery unfold across the well of each plate, framed by a scalloped rim with alternating red and green reserves. Marked to underside: Ashworth Brothers Hanley Crown over Royal Arms Diameter: 10.25 inches each Condition: Very good antique condition with no structural damage. Minor transfer irregularities consistent with period manufacturing. Light surface wear commensurate with age. These plates read beautifully in: • English country interiors • Collected Aesthetic Movement settings • Ralph Lauren–inspired dining rooms • Layered Palm Beach tablescapes An ideal scale for soup, pasta, or decorative layering.
