Stag-horn & Silver-plate Carving Set

Antique horn-handled carving set. The blade and tines are made of ice hardened steel in Sheffield. This material was used during the 19th century and can be sharpened to a razor sharp carving edge. As this material ages, it developed a "speckled" appearance, this is usual and normal. Dimensions: knife, 14.75"L x 1"W x 1"H; fork, 11"L x 1"W x 1"H. Maker's mark on knife blade.
