This tapestry is inspired from the Coats of Arms of the de Nagera family, a noble family of Basque Spanish origins. It was originally woven in Bruges around 1550, probably by a weaver named Aernaut Van Loo. The original tapestry is woven in wool and silk, and measures 278x271cm (91x810), and is displayed at the Museum of Bruges in Belgium. This beautiful tapestry is woven on a jacquard loom by skilled weavers, keeping alive the centuries old tradition of tapestry manufacturing from generation to generation. This tapestry is fully lined incorporating a sleeve along the top for hanging with a Hines hanging rod. Alternatively, this tapestry can be hung with a wooden batten which is a concealed method of hanging.
