The vibrant and brilliant concentric circles create a vertiginous and hallucinating visual effect. Colors are either in logic sequence or in a random mix but always carefully orchestrated by the artist choosing from a textile palette of 1,200 colors. The rugs are born out of the mind of a conceptual artist but came to life through the hands of exceptionally gifted female artisans from Kathmandu using the finest wool coming from the Tibetan plateau and the best Chinese silk. The artist Yan Lei has participated in many international exhibitions such as the Istanbul Biennale, Guangzhou Triennial, San Paulo Biennale, Kwangju Biennale, Shanghai Biennial and Venice Biennale.
