The vibrant and brilliant concentric circles create a vertiginous and hallucinating visual effect. Colors are either in logic sequence or in a random mix but always carefully orchestrated by the artist choosing from a textile palette of 1,200 colors. The rugs are born out of the mind of a conceptual artist but came to life through the hands of exceptionally gifted female artisans from Kathmandu using the finest wool coming from the Tibetan plateau and the best Chinese silk. The rug comes in 8 colors available. Each design is limited edition of 9. Size is customizable upon request. The artist Yan Lei has participated in many international exhibitions such as the Istanbul Biennale, Guangzhou Triennial, San Paulo Biennale, Kwangju Biennale, Shanghai Biennial and Venice Biennale. In 2002, he was the recipient of the China Contemporary Art Awards (CCAA) established by Uli Sigg. In 2007 and 2012 he was invited to take part to Documenta in Kassell, Germany.
