In 1430 the Duke of Burgundy and the Earl of Flanders, Phillip the Good, founded the Order of the Golden Fleece in Bruges, a characteristic feature of this century of chivalry and courteous love. The wearing of the Golden Fleece evidenced that one was a nobleman without blame, respecting the code of knightly virtue. This beautiful tapestry is woven on a jacquard loom by skilled weavers, keeping alive the centuries old tradition of tapestry manufacturing from generation to generation. This tapestry is fully lined incorporating a sleeve along the top for hanging with a Hines hanging rod. Alternatively, this tapestry can be hung with a wooden batten which is a concealed method of hanging.
