A layered effect that occurs during the glassblowing process, Waterbury’s double-gathered design captures the feeling of movement – not unlike the rushing rivers of the town’s Glen Falls. These optical overlaps brilliantly catch and refract light when illuminated from within. At Simon Pearce, fine glassware is still hand-blown in the traditional style. Simon Pearce opened his first glassblowing shop in 1971 in Kilkenny, Ireland. Ten years later, the factory was moved to Quechee, Vermont, where it remains today.
