Locally grown cotton yarn is hand-spun and woven into narrow strips using a handheld, double-heddle loom. The strips are sewn together to create large cloths for unisex garments. This fabric, finimougou, is prewashed and soaked in a n'gallama leaf solution, giving it a yellow base that acts as a fixative.​The solution's tannic acid reacts with iron oxide in fermented mud to create a dark background. Artisans draw patterns using a tool, coating the negative space with mud. Once dry, it is washed and repeated for depth. Some communities use roots and bark for terracotta tones. Finally, the remaining yellow areas are bleached white using a peanut and caustic soda mixture, creating a sharp contrast. Modern versions often use stencils.Size:  111.8 cm x 200 cm
