This contemporary tactile handwoven cushion is one of a collection of one-off plant-dyed pieces designed and produced by British Weaver Pamela Print. Each piece is dyed by hand using natural and repurposed yarns. Plant dyes such as weld & pomegrantate rind for shades of yellow and over-dyed with indigo for shades of green, and pure indigo and logwood to create an array of inky blues making this an environmentally-friendly piece. Handwoven on a dobby loom in Pamela's studio using soft merino lambswool and traditional extra weft and inlay weaving techniques, creating an illusory 'embroidered effect, the collection draws inspiration from the ethos and aesthetic of Indian Kantha & Japanese Boro textiles. The cushion is backed with handwoven Harris Tweed and comes with an cushion insert filled with British fleece, making this a completely sustainable product. One piece available. Further pieces can be made to order in the same design or developed as per the clients requirements.
