$1,796

This is a reproduction of Regency / Early Victorian Butler's Tray Table made of solid wood with detachable top and folding X-shape stand. Key features: -Black lacquered finish: highly characteristic of Regency-era "japanning," a European imitation of Asian lacquerwork that was fashionable in England from ~1800–1840 -Hand painted floral & horn of plenty motif: the cornucopia with cascading flowers and the crossed ribbon/torch detail are classic Regency decorative motifs -X shape frame folding stand: this is a signature Regency design element -Gold pinstripe border: typical of the restrained gilt detailing favored in the Regency period -Integrated handles on the tray: practical butler's tray design common in English country houses of this period -leather strip with wooden base Many high-quality reproductions of this style were made in the 1920s–1950s. This precious piece is one of them. It is commonly used as a decorative accent piece for serving food and drinks, or as a display surface in a home. The tray could be lifted off the stand and carried to a bedroom to serve breakfast in bed! The removable top and the collapsible stand make the table easy for storage and saving space.
