A heavy dense dark green spinach jade tray from either the late Qing Dynasty or early Republic Period that when held to the light is translucent with an artistic pattern of inclusions. It is carved from a single piece of jade! The Chinese spinach jade rectangular dish has flared straight sides and a flat base. The stone is dense, hard, polished, and heavy with a dark pattern of inclusions. The tray is a nice size and is noticeable. The tray base is flat and rests flat. MEASUREMENTS 7 7/8 in (20.0 cm) long x 5 1/8 in (13.0 cm) wide x 1 in (2.5 cm) Weighs 10.8 oz. CONDITION The stone has slight imperfections in the cutting, such as a ¾ in long line in the well near one side, but no cracks. There is also a natural fissure on one side that you can feel with your fingernail. There is polish paste residue in corners, the inclusion, and in some recesses.
