Impronta - Mano is a ceramic pin tray.‎ In an interplay of positive and negative spaces, the subject of the other two accessories in the collection is the hand.‎ Its silhouette becomes expressive empty space in a vase, hollowed at the centre by the imprint that one imagines to be the hand of Parisi himself, with a hole on the top surface in which a single flower can be placed.‎ Meanwhile the trinket tray outlines the shape of another open hand ready to cradle small objects.‎ Both the Mano vase and trinket tray are available in contrasting colours selected by the company, perfectly attuned to the original choices made in the 1960s by Parisi: black and white, red and white and in an exclusive online version in blue and white that will be available on the Cassina e-commerce platform by the first half of 2023.‎In the 1960s, Ico Parisi and his wife Luisa’s creative talent and multifaceted approach prompted them to try their hand at using more noble materials like ceramics to create decorative art objects.‎ The universe of Ico Parisi therefore comprises not only furniture but also small but brilliant accessories, capable of expressing the maestro’s creative genius.‎ Thanks to attentive philological research and development conducted in partnership with Roberta Lietti, curator of the Archivio del Design di Ico Parisi [Ico Parisi Design Archives], today Cassina presents the Impronta collection, composed of three ceramic re-editions: a cylindrical vase with an opening in the shape of a mouth; a single-stem vase characterised by a hollow contour in the shape of a hand; and a trinket tray that reproduces the cast of an open hand.‎ The Impronta collection is a celebration of Italian ceramic art, which Parisi interpreted by portraying details of the human body, specifically, the hands and the mouth, emphasized according to the typical artistic-stylistic language of the 1960s.‎ Imbued with striking visual and chromatic impact, these elegant and functional objects are made of hand-decorated enamelled ceramic.‎ To guarantee authenticity, each object carries the Cassina logo in the form of a decal that indicates the year of the original design and the year of the new production, together with the names of the authors and the collection.‎Ico Parisi and Luisa Aiani’s ceramics were first crafted in the mid-1960s.‎ It was during that time that Parisi was engaged in extensive research into the glass and ceramic arts and designed this series in partnership with one of the most legendary hand-made ceramic manufacturers, Zanolli & Sebellin.‎ Located in the town of Nove (Province of Vicenza), the company is today known as Zanolli Ceramiche Artistiche, with which Cassina continues to partner with for the production of these accessories.‎Materials: enamelled ceramic
