Spanish explorers brought reverse painting to Peru in the sixteenth century. Today, Peruvian artisans use the technique to create our 100% handmade Zaria tray. Artisans paint a pattern on one side of a piece of glass and then turn it over, which enables easy viewing of the painted pattern while protecting the paint. Subtle colors coordinate beautifully with the exterior's champagne finish.
