valerie objects' Inner Circle drinking glass is part of a tableware collection, designed by Maarten Baas, that is uniquely playful and asymmetrical in its design language – someone could even describe it with the word “imperfect”. Instead of the completely straight lines that are normally associated with industrial production, the collection's items are based on Baas's hand-drawn circles that are inherently imperfect. This gives the products and table settings a beautifully organic feel and makes them all the more interesting. “When a chef does the plating of a dish, he does it with great care but avoids perfect geometry. There has to be a certain schwung to it. I created Inner Circle in the same way,” Baas himself has said.
