Two-Sided Vanity Or Dresser Makeup Mirror By Charles Hollis Jones, Ca. 1965 Mcm

Chairish

$1,057

Offering a double-sided vanity/dresser mirror by the famed L.A. designer nicknamed "Mr. Lucite," Charles Hollis Jones, who brought lowly lucite (polymethyl methacrylate) up to the status of a household word (well, amongst a certain set). Perhaps it's destined to be chiseled into the sidewalk in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater as a "star" performer, Jones having elevated it by employing it in all manner of furnishings, and typically in a most creative and striking manner fashion. Clearly Jones is concerned about legacy, as he has employed topnotch materials in his products, as is the case here, with this mirror. It's fashioned of solid brass and has been given a sort of brass/bronze patina. That chunk of lucite on top of the brass base is most compelling! The castings and finish work are also impressively high quality. Loosen one or both of the balls on either side of the mirror and gently swing it into whatever position suits you. Dimensions: about 24 inches high, 17 wide including the balls. The base is around 8 inches square. The photos show the mirror from both sides and the close-ups of the base show different views so you can see that the condition is overall excellent. Look for it elsewhere in one of the "finer sites" for more than twice what I'm asking, just for fun!
