This Antique Tall Compote will stand tall and make itself known on your tabletop. It is made by A.H. Heisey in the early years, 1906-1909. It is in the KALONYAL pattern. KALONYAL is a "panel pattern that possesses a sort of Colonial character. " (Crockery & Glass Journal, January 18, 1906). The panels of Kalonyal are embellished with long octagonal raised panels. It is marked (almost imperceptibly on its underside in the center with a raised H in a diamond. The bottom is ground and polished. Not surprisingly, for early mold pressed glass, it does have a straw mark, this one in the center of the bowl's bottom. The panel on paneled long stem is impressive and more than stands up to the similarly decorated bowl with scalloped edge. The actual height of this compote from tip to base is 10-5/8". The bowl of the compote has a mouth opening of 8.'". The bowl sit atop a base and stem which together are 7.5". The compote is in excellent condition. Fine American Elegant Glass. Cheers,
