The Alcoa vase is clear and simple in shape, recognizable feature in all the elements of the collection.‎ The surface is an matt grey on the outside, contrasted by a glossy grey on the inside.‎ The name Alcoa refers to the region of Alcobaça in Portugal, cradle of the ceramic culture because it is rich in fine white clay.‎ The Alcoa ceramics collection consists of vases in two sizes, a pitcher and a tray.‎“We took an analytical approach to the design, by applying two contrast properties of forms and colours.‎ This is evident in the geometric lines that form the objects and the contrast used in the finished glaze with matt and high gloss.‎" Herman Studio
