The Alcoa vase is clear and simple in shape, recognizable feature in all the elements of the collection. The surface is an matt grey on the outside, contrasted by a glossy grey on the inside. The name Alcoa refers to the region of Alcobaça in Portugal, cradle of the ceramic culture because it is rich in fine white clay. The Alcoa ceramics collection consists of vases in two sizes, a pitcher and a tray.“We took an analytical approach to the design, by applying two contrast properties of forms and colours. This is evident in the geometric lines that form the objects and the contrast used in the finished glaze with matt and high gloss." Herman Studio
