Gracious Style
In 1927, René Lalique’s boundless imagination and creative genius lead to the creation of the Bacchantes vase. The iconic design features the young priestesses of Bacchus with their voluptuous beauty and curves. A work of unparallel beauty, the splendor and sensuality of the vase continue to leave admirers spellbound. Since its original release, it has been a staple in the Lalique collection and has become a lasting symbol of Lalique’s celebrated style. The extra large version of this iconic vase is intended for collectors worldwide. Its meticulous detailing, carved by hand, adds a playful use of light and dimension. Trained as a jeweler at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs in Paris in the late 1880's, Rene Lalique gained recognition as an independent designer for some of the era's great jewelry houses including Cartier and Boucheron. Eventually, he turned to glassmaking, and his techniques were a triumph for the Art Deco movement. Every piece of Lalique is finely detailed and produced by hand in Alsace, France.
