Canopo Anatra Black & White Vase #2

This vase is directly inspired by Egyptian canopic jars; it is an ironic and contemporary reinterpretation of an atavistic object, the tutelary deity of domestic tranquility. The duck is a migratory bird and is the personification of the initiatory journey; because of its annual migration, it symbolizes the spiritual quest, the cycle of rebirth, and immortality. Handcrafted and glazed with oxides and crystals, the work becomes a precious and sculptural object.
