The Bibi vase is part of the Australe collectionIt is made with a clay slab, that means, by folding a clay slab around a disc- shaped base thus to create the structure, which is then manually modelled for a long time with the help of set squares to achieve a regular shape. The shape remaining clearly somewhat irregular is indeed part of its charm.The Australe collection is a collection of 10 vases, all of them made of semi- refractory clays with natural colours, which I personally prepareThe leading theme of the collection is the exploration for simple geometric shapes with an ancient look. The intent is that to recall the same amazement that man may have felt in the early days of evolution when discovering the purity of geometric shapes.The Bibi vase stands out for its remarkably harmonious and decorative personality. Its recurring decoration spiff it up as a lace “ante litteram”.It is made of semi-refractory white clay with chamotte (grog), and the gap between its rough surface and its delicate appearance generates a lovely atmosphere. Bibi because she is as white as the butter; Bibi because she is feminine, and she loves to be beautiful.
