Davenport Imari Tapered Square Vase c.1880A finely hand-painted square porcelain vase by Davenport, Longport, Staffordshire, dating to circa 1880. Decorated in the Imari palette with underglaze cobalt blue, iron red and gilt, the body features alternating floral and geometric panels over scrolling foliate gilt designs. The interior border is similarly painted with floral sprays.Square form tapering to the base. Marked to the underside with the Davenport crown mark in red.Measures: 8.5 x 8.5 x 8.5 (height) cmCondition: Good overall. No chips, cracks or repairs. Some minor wear to the gilding, consistent with age.A decorative and collectable piece of Victorian porcelain.
