An exceptional quality antique Southeast Asian brass lidded urn dating from the 19th century. The heavily made urn stands raised on a narrow round pedestal foot with a short narrow knop stem with a goblet shaped body and screw on domed cover with a large and ornate raised finial. The urn has very fine engine turned detailed intricate patterning with extensive stylized banding around the foot, body and cover. The urn has a polished brass finish and is not marked and is a wonderful display piece.Provenance: acquired in the UK Art Market.In good condition with wear associated with age and use with slight misshapen irregularities around the foot. The screw on the top is also worn and slightly harder to locate. Height 14cm, Diameter 7cm
