Through its materiality, subtraction and transformation, the collection examines the context and origin of alabaster in Galeana, Nuevo León, resulting in pieces that generate a regional and emotional bond.Jorge Diego Etienne is a passionate Mexican industrial designer with a global perspective on design. He obtained a degree in Industrial Design from Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2009 and in 2011, in addition, he participated in the "Modern Design and Traditional Crafts" program organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency in Kyoto, where he investigated and experimented with the intersection of cultural objects with contemporary products.His focus is on creating objects that combine cultural and artisanal processes with new trends, technologies, and materials to create memorable experiences through them.By studying, understanding and resignifying traditions, Jorge Diego seeks to recontextualize them in our contemporary daily life. An important part of his projects is the transmission of information relevant to the conditions of the time and place in question to propose new paths of prosperity.His work has been included in exhibitions in Mexico at the Museum of Modern Art, Zona Maco contemporary art fair, National Center for the Arts, Abierto Mexicano de Diseño, and international exhibitions; Contemporary Furniture Fair ICFF in New York, Maison & Objet in Paris, and the Ibero-American Design Biennial in Madrid, and museums like the Craft and Folk Art Museum of Los Angeles.Besides running his Design Studio in Monterrey, Jorge Diego is the National Director for the Design Program of the Tec de Monterrey.
