Dating to the 19th Century this stunning heavy cast iron French urn from the Corneau Charleville Foundry is a superb piece. There is a markers stamp to the inside and it also shows the model number '0' showing this was an early piece in its range. The urn has been stripped of previous paint and in its raw cast iron condition. The Corneau brokers Emile and Alfred became business partners around 1846, and by 1856, they had set up in the Petit-Bois district of Charleville. In 1859 they opened foundry Corneau Frères, which specialised in household cast iron ornamental items and heating appliances. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
