In 'Katachi', designers Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl explore the delicate balance between light, shadow, and form. The mouthblown glass vase for 101 Copenhagen takes its name from the Japanese for "shape". An irregular silhouette — characterized by protrusions and an uneven surface — gives the piece an intriguing, organic feel. Subtly distorting and refracting the light, and creating soft shadows and pockets of depth, the vase's dynamism and fluidity is enhanced by the use of clear glass. Whether filled with found branches or displayed unadorned, the small 'Katachi' vase brings a clean sense of poetry to spaces.
