From a small collection of five Persian hand painted pottery vases is this stylish earthenware triangular shaped vase hand painted with deer amidst rocks and flowers and dating from the early to mid-20th century. The three-sided vase is hand painted with similar patterns in colored glazes on a white ground to each side with leaves to the slanting shoulders and has a flat collar top with a narrow short neck. The base is unglazed, and the vase is not marked. In good presentable with age crazing to the glazed finish and the usual irregularities of these handmade pieces.Provenance: acquired in the British art market.
