Soviet vase by Daniel NikolovskiDimensions: W 20 x D 20 x H 28 cmMaterial: Glazed CeramicPaying homage to Soviet Architecture, more specifically a catholic church in the city of Skopje designed by Blagoja Mickovski-Bajo, this object seems as if it is almost a maquette model of a building.Handmade by the designer, this glazed ceramic object is consisted of three curved walls, jointed with vertical pillars, evoking a compositional seriousness of a scred monument.Daniel Nikolovski (1992) is a Macedonian-born interior and furniture designer, currently living and working in Milan, Italy. His work is narrative-driven and is characterised by the use of sculptural geometries, altering proportions, expressed through rich range of materials such as: steel, resin, tortoiseshell acetate, boldly-patterned woods and fabrics used in the fashion industry.An alumni of Istituto Europeo di Design (BA) - Milan and a graduate of the Royal College of Art (MA) - London, some of his past work experiences include: Creative Direction and Design for the furniture brand KABINET, Verona (2019), Set Design for the exhibition Designing Craft / Crafting Design, Vienna (2017), Interior Design for NCDA, Hong Kong (2015).Throughout his career, he has presented his work at Salone del Mobile, FIAC (Paris), Paris Design Week, Offsite Online (NY) and Vienna Design Week. Daniel’s work has been published in Elle Decoration, Marie Claire Maison, AD and The New York Times.
