Teresa ceramic vase by Malwina Konopacka.Materials: Ceramic.Dimensions: H 79 x ø 25 cm.Teresa vase is the most unique piece from the ceramic OKO Family. Each piece is made for special order, using various techniques and styles. No two are the same. The vase was created for the 2018 auction ‘Spragnieni Piekna’ (‘Thirsty for Beauty’) at the National Museum in Warsaw. During the auction the vase was subjected to artistic interventions and creative reactions by artists invited to the event. The TERESA vase is more of a sculptural item than an everyday object and is produced in very short seriesMalwina Konopacka - designer and illustrator, author of the OKO ceramics collection. Born in 1982 in Warsaw, she studied Industrial Design at the Academy of fine Arts in Warsaw and illustration at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. As an illustrator, she worked for print media and it was indeed her passion for illustration that resulted in the first OKO vases – born out of artistic curiosity that pushed the artist to examine how a familiar drawing would work in the three-dimensional world of everyday objects. The first object from the OKO family was conceived in 2014 and since then the family has been constantly growing. The OKO family consists of vases OKO / 2014, Teresa / 2018, Nana / 2018, Krystal / 2018, Irena / 2019, Miki / 2020 and Aniela / 2018 plates. Items are made and painted by hand in collaboration with skilled craftsmen and technologists. OKO is also the starting point for artistic and sculptural endeavours. The modular totems Mama / 2019, Hugging Mama / 2020 and TOTEM Forms / 2020 or the installation Fountain / 2019 are forms at the intersection of visual arts and design.
