An exceptional Japanese koboku hanaire, made from a naturally hollow piece of wood with a powerful organic form and handwritten black calligraphy. Dimensions: height 85 cm, width 33 cm, depth 15 cm. The tree trunk has a warm honey-brown colour, a naturally open top and three organic openings along the side. These openings follow the knots and branch formations of the wood, giving the object a lively, sculptural presence. The black calligraphy has been applied by hand, adding a strong graphic element to the natural surface. Together with the visible grain, small cracks and irregularities, it creates a striking wabi-sabi object with depth and character. Beautiful as a base for a sober ikebana arrangement with branches, dried flowers or seasonal material, but equally strong as a purely decorative object. The hollow form, irregular edge and warm sheen of the wood make this a unique interior piece with calm, texture and presence. In beautiful vintage condition, with natural cracks, openings, colour variations and irregularities inherent to the wood. Sturdy, usable and highly decorative.
