The Whorl Vase from Currey & Company is a 3D-printed porcelain form that takes the shape of an upside-down tassel, the swirling body spiraling upward to a narrow opening at the top. The scale is substantial enough to function as a standalone sculptural object rather than a conventional vessel, and the 3D-printing process allows the fluid, twisting form to be realized with a consistency that hand-throwing couldn't achieve. Slight variations in dimension are still an inherent part of the production process.
