Original early-1800s hand colored antique botanical print that appeared in "The Botanic Garden” published by the British botanist Benjamin Maund from 1825 to 1851. Each engraving consists of 4 panels featuring “ornamental flowering plants cultivated in Great Britain.” The prints are notable for their detail and exquisite hand coloring as shown in the included floral panel. This print includes (clockwise from top left) the Narcissus (Jonquil), Coronilla, Bell-flower and Ledum. The engraving measures 6 x 8 inches. Included are the original accompanying text pages authored by Maund which describe the plants shown on the print. This is an original antique hand-colored Botanical print from the early 1800s - not a reproduction. It is in excellent condition with no imperfections. The print is carefully packaged in an archival plastic sleeve with backing board, and shipped in a cardboard flat mailer with cardboard insert. Multiple print purchases are combined into a single shipment which can reduce the total shipping charge.
