Original early-1800s hand-colored botanical engraving of the Dwarf Elder. This botanical print is from a folio of flowering plants of Great Britain published by the botanist William Baxter (1787-1871). Baxter, a Scotsman, was appointed curator of the Oxford Botanic Garden at the age of 25. This is an original antique hand-colored botanical print - not a reproduction. It is in excellent condition with no imperfections. Both the Latin and English names are shown on the base of the print. It is carefully packaged in an archival plastic sleeve with backing board, and shipped in a cardboard flat mailer with cardboard insert. Includes a certificate with additional information and original page of accompanying text. Multiple print purchases are combined into a single shipment. We will refund the excess shipping charge paid.
