18th century pastel painting by French artist Saintin Francois Jozan (1797-1867). The painting is a portrait of two young women, one gazes directly at the viewer while the other looks towards a hand mirror which frames her reflection. Set in the original, elaborately carved, gilt frame, with a plaque of the artists name set at the center bottom. Art measures 23" x 31". Frame measures 32" x 36" Saintin Francois Jozan was a French painter, student of LAFON, enter the School of Fine Arts (l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts) on April 6, 1819, exposed portraits, still lifes and genre scenes in the Salon from 1831 to 1859.
