Robert Shaw (Delaware, 1859-1912) "'Declaration House" chine-colle etching, pencil signed lower right and in plate lower left. Small house remarque lower right. From a series called "'American Memorial Etchings" depicting historic landmarks of Colonial America, published by the Colonial Dames. The Declaration House was at the corner of 7th and Market in Philadelphia until it was torn down in 1883. It was reconstructed on that site in 1976 for the Bicentennial. Measures 8 x 13 inches, image size and 15 x 19.5 sheet size.
