Arthur Allen Lewis (born Alabama 1873 - 1957) "Place de la Poissonnerie, Chartres" etching on paper, pencil signed, location inscribed in the plate upper left. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has included this in its prints collection and dates it as 1900-1923. Allen Lewis was member of the Chicago Society of Etchers, the Print Maker's Society of California and the National Academy of Design. He is included in the collections of several institutions including the Chicago Art Institute, the Metropolitan Museum, New York, the British Museum, London as well as many, many smaller museums and libraries.
