American impressionist oil painting by Edward Scholl (1882 - 1946) exhibited at The California Art Club 1920. Painting depicts a figure - perhaps Eve - in a stylized garden setting. Original gray painted frame. Exhibition label to the back. Measures 10 3/4" x 7 1/4" framed. Loss to frame. Born in Russia in 1882, Scholl studied at the National Academy of Design in New York City. From 1920 into the 1930s he was active in Los Angeles. He died in NYC on May 13, 1946. Exhibitions include: California Art Club, 1920; Temple B'nai Brith (LA), 1930; Pasadena Art Institute, 1931.
