Whitman Bailey (1884-1954) drawing of an octagon house in Stamford, Connecticut. Signed and dated' inscribed "from photo in 1859” Bailey studied under Howard Pyle and at Pratt. He moved to Stamford in 1924 and for the next 30 years drew historical scenes for the Stamford Advocate newspaper.
