Naturalistic detail throughout - note leaves and flowers - with highly stylized background. Sympathetic choice of colors - very sophisticated treatment of an every day object. Beautiful French frame in the Louis XVI taste. Buck lived in the early 20th c. and was active in New York City. Known for botanicals, genre, figure, urban-landscape.
