Wolfratshausen Castle with the Kastenmühle: "This castle was built in the earliest Middle Ages, unsuccessfully besieged by Duke Henry X in 1133, and then burned according to the treaty. It was plundered by the Swedes in 1632 and destroyed by lightning in 1734. Duke Rudolf I, the progenitor of the last reigning Palatine-Bavarian line, lived in this castle, and his sons Adolf and Rudolf II were born here." The painting was made by Buehler in 1939 and was given to my wife by her mother-in-law in Germany. The family had a flower mill in Wolfratshausen which is south of Munich.
