This is a RARE set of 5 French Art Deco interior decor prints that showcase wallpaper designs for sitting rooms. They date to 1934-35 and were purchased by us in Paris. They came from an unbound album featuring a practical approach to Modernism. The various wallpaper patterns compliment the classic Art Deco furnishings. Each plate features an intimate sitting area. Note the wall panels, the window dressings, the area rugs, and the period furnishings. They are done in strong vivid color tones. Also note the use of metallic silver and gold inks. These are rare and specific to prints of the Art Deco years. The images are in a horizontal format measuring 10.25 x 8.75 inches. Each design is set in a multilayered "frame" with the metallic ink highlights. Furthermore, the design is centered on richly patterned thick stock which further enances the image. The room settings are "named" and described. Excellent condition. These images are quite detailed and should be viewed close-up to be appreciated.
