1940s Bernard Brussel-Smith (1914-1989) "Nicholas Jenson" wood engraving on paper. Pencil signed and titled, inscribed on the newspaper in the image. Smith was and is one of the most prominent wood engravers in the US, having studied with Fritz Eichenberg in New York. Jenson (circa 1420–1480)was a pioneering French engraver.
