Incredible, impressionist style artwork by renown, listed English artist Francis E. Jamieson (1895-1950). Jamieson was such a well-known and sought after artist that he signed some of his art with pseudonyms to fool his employers. The signature on this work, Aubrey Ramus, is one of his known pseudonyms. This work also has the distinction of being displayed at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh in June of 1944. This oil painting is captivating with its large, bold brushstrokes and gorgeous colors. It depicts a crystalline stream reflecting the lovely autumn leaves and the farmhouse and barn sitting on the bank. Also shown is a man or boy carrying a stick as he walks along the path on the beautiful cloudy day. Features a wooden frame, string for hanging and a label from the Royal Scottish Academy. The dimension given below are for the painting with the frame. The visible painting is approximately 15.5" wide by 11.5" tall. See condition notes.
