This is a 1946 Mid-Century fashion print that appeared in a French haute couture magazine of the time. It is NOT a recent reproduction print. It showcases a Pierre Balmain elegant evening coat. Balmain was a leading couturier of the MC years and was commissioned to design for the leading haute couture magazines. This image features a woman in a full voluptuous evening coat that trails dramatically as she makes her entrance in what appears to be an interior space with classical architectural elements. There is a painterly quality to the print. The lavender tones are exquisite. The elongated perspective of the illustrated print focuses attention to her entrance. Note too, the detailing in the border of her coat edging which adds additional interest. This is perfect for today's fashionista. This is a RARE print; it is the first time we have it in all our years of collecting. Excellent condition. 7 x 12 inches in size. Comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for a standard size frame.
